Well, I should be working on this week’s sermon right now – but I’m easily distracted right now, hence writing this blog. There is a relentless aspect of being a pastor, each week preparing a different message, wondering to yourself if anyone, I mean anyone actually did anything with last week’s! Ha – Then you add that to 52 weeks of those kinds of feelings and well, it sometimes feels a little overwhelming. I typically pour 20-30 hours a week into a sermon and I guess at times you wonder whether people do anything with it and if it was worth your time. But I guess if one person is impacted in some way, it was worth it. It just on days like this it can feel “relentless”.
Well, I better get back to it – just needed to share that.
I still wouldn’t trade my role here for anything – I love being a pastor, and yet I am still a human – I know, a shocker I’m sure.
